What to Expect at a Specialty Appointment
Once you have received a referral to our veterinary hospital from your primary care veterinarian, please contact us to book an appointment.
While meeting a new veterinarian and waiting for test results can feel nerve-wracking, knowing what you can expect at your first appointment will help make the experience more pleasant for both you and your pet.
STEP 1
Get Settled
Please come about 10 minutes early to complete our New Patient Form. If you'd like to save a bit of time, you can fill out the New Patient Form online in advance.
STEP 2
Meet Your Board-Certified Specialist
A member of our specialty team will study your pet's history and discuss their issues with you. In return, we'll take the opportunity to answer any questions you may have.
STEP 3
Examination, Diagnosis & Treatment
Once your pet has been examined by your veterinarian, you will be provided with a diagnosis and treatment options. Your veterinary specialist will work with you to define a treatment plan for your pet. Following your appointment, we will also contact your primary care veterinarian to deliver a detailed written report about your appointment and treatment plan.
