She has an extensive research background and her work is published in the Journal of Parasitology. She is an experienced practitioner in clinical medicine, emergency medicine, and soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
After 14 years of working in private practice in North Carolina, her desire for a new challenge prompted her to enroll in the University of Iowa Master of Public Health program for practicing veterinarians. She completed her Masters in 2018 while working for the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service as a Supervisory Public Health Veterinarian. She also completed a work detail with the Applied Epidemiology Service branch of the USDA working as a surveillance epidemiologist.
When the unique opportunity to work as an emergency clinician with Carolina Veterinary Services presented itself, the decision to return to clinical practice in North Carolina was an easy one. Dr. Moore is very impressed with the superior level of medicine practiced, the top-notch level of patient care, and the collaborative work environment amongst the different specialty services. She is excited to utilize her surgical and emergency medical skill set working as an integral member of the CVS Emergency Services team.
When not working, Dr. Moore enjoys outdoor recreational activities with her veterinarian husband Don, and two teenage sons. She has a passion for world travel, always up for an adventure whether riding camels in Morocco, climbing the Great Wall of China, scuba diving in the Galapagos, trekking through rain forests in Borneo, snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, or on Safari in Africa.
